BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland reveals what he 'took' from hit dance show amid 'forget' fears
Chris McCausland has revealed that he took more than the Glitterball away from Strictly Come Dancing as a physical reminder of his time on the hit show.
As fans know, the comedian was paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell for the BBC One dance contest's 2024 series back in September and after three months of performing in the show's famous ballroom, they made it through to the final where they were crowned the series champions.
They were seen facing competition from fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy after breaking into tears.
Chris, who was Strictly's first-ever blind contestant and winner, was seen achieving a perfect score in the final for his waltz to Gerry And The Pacemakers’ You’ll Never Walk Alone, and it made winning all the more emotional.
Speaking on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs this Saturday (February 15), the 47-year-old said: "It was emotional Jonathan, it was so emotional. Me and Dianne were meant to link arms at the end of that and walk off. As we linked arms, she crumpled and then I crumpled and the two of us were in bits. It was a lot, you know."
Talking alongside his fellow guests about taking mementos from set, Chris then confessed: "I took my Strictly Come Dancing embroidered dressing gown and I haven’t had the face to wear it at home yet in case someone knocks at the door and I forget I’ve got it on."
Also speaking about how his audience at his stand-up shows have changed since appearing on Strictly, Chris added: "I think I was lucky enough to get enough of my daft sense of humour across in the show
