BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Lauren Oakley 'embarrasses herself' as fans brand her 'queen'

Strictly Come Dancing star Lauren Oakley claimed she 'embarrassed herself' during her latest performance - but fans strongly disagree. The professional dancer has had a whirlwind couple of weeks after being drafted in to compete in the BBC One dance contest this year.

Lauren hadn't been given a celebrity dance partner for the 2024 series but was still very much part of the 'Strictly family' and appeared in the group numbers, dances with the musical acts and was also seen during each live show supporting her co-stars alongside Claudia Winkleman in the 'Claudatorium'.

However, Lauren has recently been drafted in to compete in the BBC One dance contest alongside JB Gill. It comes as the JLS star's dance partner Amy Dowden was forced to withdraw from the show as a result of a foot injury.

Amy was forced to miss the first-ever 'Icons Week' on Strictly earlier this month after "falling ill" the weekend before and missing a week of rehearsals to rest. As a result, Amy's fellow pro Lauren stepped in so JB could continue to perform.

But soon after, it was confirmed that due to a foot injury, 34-year-old Amy needed to recover and, therefore, couldn't continue in the competition. It was then confirmed that JB would carry on in the latest Strictly series alongside Lauren and last weekend, they wowed with their first performance, a samba, as an official Strictly couple.

But while they're back in training for their next performance after it was confirmed they've made it through to week nine of the hit dance show - which is the annual Blackpool special - Lauren couldn't help but be distracted by some of the comments she made during her
