BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Rippon supported over announcement with co-stars after dance-off anger

Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Rippon has been flooded with support after sharing some exciting news just days after her place in the competition was at risk. The veteran broadcaster was seen in the ballroom on Saturday night (November 4) as the BBC One dance contest reached the halfway mark.

Sporting a blue dress with a sparkly bodice, Angela glided around the floor with her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington during their elegant waltz. to Fascination by Nat King Cole before picking up a score of 28 from the judges as they gave the couple some rare criticism and advice.

Angela and Kai then faced their first dance-off as they were given the red light treatment alongside Adam Thomas and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk. Both couples had to reprise their routines before the judges unanimously voted to save Angela and Kai, leaving Waterloo Road star Adam as the sixth celebrity to be sent home.

But Angela is set to bounce back from the dance-off knock as she and Kai return to the show this Saturday (November 11) with a Paso Doble to Hung Up by Madonna. In the meantime, however, the 79-year-old has had some exciting news to share alongside just two of her co-stars.

Sharing a post to Instagram, Angela revealed: "I am extremely excited to be joining the Strictly Come Dancing tour. Keep your eyes peeled on @strictlycomedancinglive for all the announcements but I'm so happy @laytonwilliams and @ellielouiseleach are also along for the ride."

She also posted the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: "I’m
