BBC Strictly Come Dancing confirms 'return' that viewers won't see to fans' delight

Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed the return of one of the show's much-loved pros but despite fans' delight at the news, they won't actually see her.

It's been revealed that Oti Mabuse has choreographed the professional dancers' latest group number, which is set to be featured in the BBC One dance contest this weekend.

Fans will know that Oti danced professionally on the programme from 2015 to 2022, lifting the Glitterball trophy twice with Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher and comedian Bill Bailey.

Oti announced her departure from Strictly as a professional dancer in 2022, following her success in the 2021 series, sharing on Instagram at the time: "Never easy to say goodbye. I have been part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time.

"Lifting the glitterball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers! You are my family and I adore you all forever."

But, last year, Oti was praised by her co-stars and fans as she secretly returned to the ballroom to put together an Afro-Latin Ballroom dance for her former colleagues.

Now, it's been confirmed she's back. In a new video posted to Strictly's social media channels, Dianne Buswell is heard saying: "This week's group dance is a passionate Paso Doble, celebrating us women."
