BBC Normal People's Marianne and Connell stars say 'watch this space' as fans react to season two tease

Fans of the hit BBC drama Normal People have gone wild after its main stars have seemingly teased a second series. The show's lead actors, Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, have sparked rumours of more episodes to come after sharing a photo together on social media.

The 12-part critically acclaimed series, which aired on BBC Three in 2020, was nominated for four Emmy Awards. It captured audiences worldwide with its raw portrayal of the complex relationship between Marianne Sheridan (played by Daisy) and Connell Waldron (played by Paul).

As the characters navigated the trials of young adulthood, their intense romantic and sexual connection resonated deeply with viewers. Despite the first series covering the entire plot of the original novel, the prospect of a second season has fans eagerly speculating.

A second echoed: "Daisy and Paul you're playing with my emotions and I'm not here for it!!!" as a third commented: "If they announce normal people season 2 i might cry." Another said: "If the [peace] signs they are making are for season two of Normal People im gonna scream."
