Barcelona coaching replacements: Hansi Flick takes Xavi’s place in a month’s time

Xavi Hernandez, the former midfielder and manager of FC Barcelona, has been finally sacked. Experts of the 1win app attribute this decision to rumours around financial speculation, as well as the fickle mood of Xavi himself, who was previously about to leave his post, and then changed his mind. What the future holds for the team and who will replace the coach, let’s see below.

Rumours of Xavi’s possible departure appeared at the beginning of the year, with the coach himself repeatedly stating that he could resign at the start of the season. But in April his mood changed, after which Hernandez said that he is full of energy and determination to continue working with the team and lead it to the final.  The situation changed dramatically after the coach made a public and rather radical criticism of the club’s financial policy, which angered Barcelona president Joan Laporta. We already know the outcome – the decision to sack Xavi was taken immediately. Tentatively, former Bayern and German national team coach Hansi Flick has already been appointed in his place.

In his farewell speech, Xavi said that it was a great honour for him to work with the team for the last few years and live many amazing moments with the players. The decision to leave the club was not made by him voluntarily, but in his memory will always remain many valuable moments experienced together with the players – triumphant victories and discussing failures in the locker room. Hernandez praises the professionalism of the club and also notes that many ambitious goals have been achieved with his involvement, including Champions League and Super Cup appearances.
