BBC Gladiators fans are saying the same thing about newcomer Cyclone

Fans of BBC's Gladiators are saying the same thing same thing about newcomer Cyclone. The new gladiator has made her debut on tonight's (January 25) episode of the rebooted series and fans are loving her.

Cyclone, whose real name is Lystus Ebosele, is a 23-year-old classic powerlifter, representing Ireland. She hit 235 kilograms (518 pounds) in knee sleeves at the 2023 IPF World Junior Powerlifting Championships (WJC) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

She won the first round of the show, the dual, against opponent Keeva Neely who was disqualified after using her battle stick for balance. Responding to this, Cyclone said: "I am a new Gladiator but that doesn't mean I am going to take it easy.

"I'm not here to warm up. I'm here to dominate. She cheated and you must follow the rules."

Fans have already warmed up to Cyclone, hailing her as the potential 'villain' of the season. Writing on X, formerly Twitter, user @Agent_2583 said: "Looks like Cyclone is our female bad guy this season, she got some sass."

@Adam_Pearson mentioned: "Cyclone is such a good smack talker", while @richiew4ever wrote: "Wow, loving Cyclone. An out and out female heel (bad girl) Gladiator #gladiators."

Some X users are confusing Cyclone's Irish accent with an American one. One user, @PamelaJoanne94, said: "Erm…people saying Cyclone sounds American you may wanna get your ears syringed."

Another, @RealEnli, added: I'm reading tweets and I'm have a laugh riot seeing people think Cyclone is American! It's called a Regional Irish accent people! We don't all sound like Dubliners, Gerry Adams or Leprechauns."
