BBC EastEnders fans all say same thing as Danny Dyer's real-life family member makes debut
BBC One's long-running soap EastEnders has been gearing up for its 40th anniversary with some impressive cast returns.
Some huge names have already made a comeback in recent weeks but the latest episode features the return of an iconic duo and a special appearance by none other than West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen.
Wednesday's (February 12) show, available now on BBC iPlayer, marked a special moment for characters Billy Mitchell and Honey as they celebrate their hen and stag parties at the Vic.
Billy Mitchell, a lifelong fan of West Ham, was overjoyed when he received a surprise congratulatory video from Jarrod Bowen. Teddy Mitchell handed brother Billy the phone and he heard these words: "Hey, Honey and Billy, it's Jarrod Bowen here."
"Teddy told us you're about to tie the knot... so I want to say a massive congratulations and good luck from myself and all of us here at West Ham. Enjoy your special day, and hopefully we'll see you at the London Stadium soon."
Bowen, a West Ham captain, also has a personal connection to the show, reports the Mirror.
He is engaged to actor Danny Dyer's daughter, reality TV star Dani Dyer. Danny Dyer had played Mick Carter in the show until his exit at Christmas 2022. Jarrod and Dani share twin girls named Summer and Star born in May 2023.
Jarrod's unexpected appearance sent fans into meltdown, with one writing on social media: "Nice cameo for Jarrod Bowen in Eastenders! The boy can do it all!." Another added: "Jarrod Bowen's cheeky Eastenders cameo.." A third said: "Jarrod Bowen on EastEnders you know."
In an unexpected twist in Albert Square, Billy Mitchell was astonished by the reappearance of his mates Garry and Minty, portrayed by the original actors Ricky Groves and Cliff Parisi.
