BBC Breakfast in chaos as 'we see you' moment leaves viewers in hysterics
BBC Breakfast fans got more than they bargained for on Friday (January 24) when a camera gaffe gave two crew members an unexpected moment in the spotlight.
Mid-interview with Tana Adkin KC from the Criminal Bar Association, viewers were stunned to see the lens shift to reveal two BBC staff beside themselves with surprise.
Hastily retreating out of shot, their brief cameo didn't go unnoticed by the audience. Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) saw an eruption of amusement as one viewer quipped: "#BBCBreakfast hahahaha. We see ya."
"When you didn't expect to become a star on @BBCBreakfast. Love their awkward looks, as they slunk back off camera!!! " said another user, while a third chimed in with "#BBCBreakfast gone wrong. Smile please," accompanied by others reposting the mishap with laughter emojis.
Separately, today's broadcasting was dominated by the breaking news regarding Storm Eowyn.
The Met Office's exceptional red weather warning alerted the public to serious risks including potential loss of life due to the extreme conditions enveloping parts of the UK and Ireland.
Severe disruptions are poised to strike Northern Ireland and Scotland hardest, with winds that could exceed 100mph near the coasts, reports the Express.
With millions advised to remain indoors and avoid all travel, school closures, and numerous train cancellations, BBC Weather's Sarah Keith-Lucas has been diligently delivering vital updates to those tuning into BBC Breakfast for the latest storm coverage.
"Some big waves around, right across our coasts. We've got yellow warnings really across the UK, amber warnings in the north, but more serious red warnings in force across Northern Ireland and central Scotland," she explained.
