Bayern Munich chief addresses Jude Bellingham transfer talk amid Manchester United interest

Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn has addressed the rumours linking his club with a move for Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old midfielder is one of the hottest properties in European football having produced some superb displays in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. His latest masterclass came in Sevilla on Wednesday night as he notched a goal and an assist in his side's comfortable 4-1 victory.

Bayern have previous when it comes to signing players from their rivals, having previously captured Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze from Dortmund. However, when asked about the possibility of adding Bellingham to that list, Kahn appeared to rule out a move for the Englishman.

He told Sport Bild : "Of course, I think Bellingham is an excellent player. But we've got Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Ryan Gravenberch, Marcel Sabitzer.

"I can say we're well-equipped in that position. We're not worried about that at all."

United are long-term admirers of Bellingham, with links stretching as far back as his days at Birmingham City. In 2020, the year he signed for Dortmund, the Reds showed him around their Carrington training ground in the hope of luring him to Old Trafford.

However, despite being rebuffed on that occasion, Bellingham still remains a player of interest who could help improve the midfield at United. There is an acceptance that United will only be able to convince Bellingham to swap Dortmund for the red side of Manchester if they are playing in the Champions League.
