Barry Ferguson names two Rangers stars who will save Gio van Bronckhorst an 'absolute fortune' on transfers

Barry Ferguson reckons Gio van Bronckhorst might not have to splash the cash on transfers this summer - since the Ibrox academy stars are ready to pick up some slack.

And he's named Alex Lowry and Leon King in particular as two who will save him "an absolute fortune."

Having booked their place in the Europa League final on Thursday night, Rangers looked to the future for their clash with Dundee United.

18-year-old King was given a first ever start while Lowry impressed off the bench, as did Charlie McCann and Adam Devine at left and right-back respectively.

Van Bronckhorst's team cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win with James Tavernier scoring from the spot while Amad Diallo also came off the bench to score.

It wasn't enough to keep their title hopes alive as Celtic's earlier win against Hearts mean their lead is insurmountable.
