Barry Ferguson admits Rangers 'work cut out' against Celtic but 'dangerous' Ibrox star can turn Viaplay Cup final tide

Barry Ferguson reckons Ryan Kent can be the Rangers difference maker on Sunday - but admits Michael Beale's men are in for a hard afternoon's work against Celtic.

It's been a positive start to life as manager at Ibrox for the Londoner, who has won all but one match since December. That was a draw against the club's bitter rivals, who stand between them and lifting his first trophy in the hotseat on Sunday in Viaplay Cup final action. Former club captain and Record Sport columnist Ferguson knows it will be a tough ask for his ex-club amid the array of options Ange Postecoglou has at his Celtic disposal.

But speaking on Go Radio, he reckons Kent's role in a free attacking area can unlock doors for Beale. He said: "I am being respectful when I am saying this. Kyogo, Jota, Daizen Maeda, Aaron Mooy for me has been Celtic's best player after the World Cup break, Callum McGregor is the driving force, Reo Hatate.

"Rangers will have their work cut out and they will have to be at their best. But as I said, Rangers have started to gain some strength in depth and players have started to find a bit of form.

"One player jumps out, Ryan Kent. He's now scored a few more goals, more assists, and he looks more dangerous in that free role Michael Beale has created.

"Both sets of teams play an attacking style. That is why I think there will be gaps at the back and goals in the game."
