Barcelona: 50,000 Nou Camp tickets already sold for UWCL tie vs Wolfsburg
More than 91,000 packed out the Nou Camp for Barcelona Women’s tie with Real Madrid last month and it seems as though a similar turnout is to be expected for their Champions League semi-final against Wolfsburg.
Prior to the historic Women’s El Clasico, Barcelona Femení had played in the Nou Camp just once, and that was in 2021 when Covid-19 measures prevented fans from being able to attend.
But their epic European quarter-final win against their arch-rivals produced a memorable atmosphere and it appears women’s matches at the Nou Camp may now be a more regular occurrence.
Barcelona Femení normally play their games at the 6,000 seater Johan Cruyff Stadium, where the average attendance is around 3,000 fans per game
Yet, the overwhelming success of last week’s record-breaking El Clasico has prompted the club to host their Women’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Wolfsburg at the same venue.
Before tickets went on sale for the Wolfsburg match, 50,000 were made available to club members –– all of which were sold in just a few hours.
