Bar giving away ‘free fizz’ and free bar snacks for its first birthday

City centre spot 10 Tib Lane is going to be giving away ‘free fizz’ and free bar snacks to celebrate its first birthday. The restaurant will be doing free oyster and ‘fizz’ giveaways at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm, on its special day - this Thursday (August 4).

And that’s not all. When the oysters are being paid for - just £1 each - there will be Tequila Verdita shots going to accompany them, as well as a cocktail happy hour. In addition, there will be free bar snacks and DJs playing all night.

The party starts from opening time, at 4pm. 10 Tib Lane opened last summer on the site of former bars including Bock Biere Cafe, Lounge 10 and burger joint Filthy Cow.

A project from the crews behind Oldham Street’s excellent Cocktail Beer Ramen + Bun and the neighbourhood bar Henry C in Chorlton, it has quickly become a firm fave in the city. Happy hour happens daily from 4pm to 6pm, with cocktails at £6 and oysters at £1 each.

Its most recent menu revamp threw in a rump and short rib burger, a smoked haddock and crab rarebit, hanger steak with frites, and lamb rillettes.

But it’s also getting a serious reputation for its Sunday lunch too. For 18 quid, you can choose from a 34-day dry age beef sirloin, Italian style rolled and roasted porchetta, roast chicken, or a roasted butternut squash wellington.

All come with a Yorkshire pudding, roasties, braised red cabbage, carrot and swede, parsnip, greens and gravy, with sides including truffle parmesan cauliflower cheese.
