Bank introduces new freebies for customers including weekly Greggs, railcard and breakdown cover - how to claim

Monzo is introducing three new paid-for subscription plans, offering customers a weekly treat from Greggs, a railcard, and breakdown cover in a big shake up for its banking customers. These new offerings are set to replace the existing Plus and Premium plans, which are priced at £5 and £15.

The most affordable of the new subscriptions is Monzo Extra, which costs £3 a month. This plan provides advanced roundups, the ability to link other banks and credit cards to your Monzo app, as well as an auto-spreadsheet feature that uploads your financial transactions into a Google spreadsheet.

However, current Monzo Plus plan customers have access to a 4.6 per cent easy access savings account - a perk that is not available to the new Monzo Extra subscribers. To get enhanced rates on your savings, you will need to subscribe to the pricier Monzo Perks, costing £7 a month, reports the Mirror.

This plan also offers an annual railcard and a weekly hot drink or snack from Greggs. The yearly cost of this plan totals £84 - so it's essential to ensure you'll utilise all the perks for it to be worthwhile.

For instance, a railcard typically costs £30, and a Greggs sausage roll is currently priced at £1.20 in most UK areas, equating to £62.40 if you bought one every week for a year. This means the total cost of a railcard and weekly sausage roll comes to £92.40.

The range of railcards available includes options such as the 16 to 25, 26 to 30, Senior Railcard, Two Together, Family and Friends Railcard, and Network Railcard.

Monzo Max offers all the aforementioned benefits, in addition to worldwide travel insurance, phone and accessory insurance, and UK
