Ballon d'Or 2024 ceremony LIVE as Man City and Manchester United stars among nominees

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony which shall be taking place live in Paris this evening.

Manchester City are one of the best-represented clubs tonight as they look to dominate the awards ceremony. In total, City have been nominated in five categories including four nominations for men's Ballon d'Or as well as three for women's Ballon d'Or.

Drama has circulated around the event on Monday after it was discovered that no Real Madrid representatives will be attending the ceremony. This comes after reports that Vinicius Jr. will not be winning the main Ballon d'Or prize tonight.

It is bound to be a strange night for Manchester United's two representatives in the Kopa Trophy bracket - Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. They discovered today their manager Erik ten Hag has been sacked by Ineos just 116 days after his contract was extended.

As well as those three individual awards, City have been nominated in the Men's Coach of the Year and Club of the Year categories. The Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper, Women's Coach of the Year and Club of the Year shall also be awarded tonight.
