Bahrain GP weather: What is the forecast this weekend?

The Bahrain Grand Prix returns for another year as it kicks off the new Formula 1 season at the Sakhir circuit this weekend.

The middle eastern nation had the honour of kicking off the F1 campaign last year with Australia off of the calendar thanks to the pandemic, and keeps the gig for 2022 despite the return of Albert Park, which will now host the Australian Grand Prix on April 10th.

It’s proven a pretty popular track in more recent years, too, with the spectacle seemingly aided by the race being run under the floodlights at the circuit and at night, compared to when it was held in the day in Bahrain.

Naturally, that has an impact on conditions in terms of the weather, too, which is what we’re taking a look at now ahead of the Bahrain GP.

Over the course of the weekend, the probability of rain is 0% and it’s hardly a surprise given the race is held in what is effectively a desert.

That said, then, it’s also no surprise to hear that warm conditions are set to prevail, with highs of 22, 24 and then 25 degrees across the three days of action this weekend, though those will cool off a little as we head into the evening and the sun sets.

Wind could be more of a factor, though, with gusts of around 15-20mph possible and that could impact the cars at least a bit with them heavier than previous seasons thanks to the new regulations.

It’s possibly going to be a little cloudy on Friday, but Saturday and Sunday will be clear, and so settled conditions are on the way in Sakhir as the new F1 season begins.
