Red Bull are said to have solved the issue behind their Bahrain retirements

Red Bull are said to be satisfied that they have identified and solved the issue that caused them a double retirement at the opening race of the Formula 1 season; the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez had both been on for good points finishes, with the former hounding Charles Leclerc for the race victory at points, on Sunday, before both suffered technical issues.

Indeed, with them retiring within a matter of laps of one another, it seemed quite clear they were suffering from the same issue and so it was proven, with Red Bull revealing something related to the fuel pump in the car was the culprit.

A real kick in the teeth for the Bulls, who underlined their good testing performances with a strong weekend up until that point, and they’ll be eager to try and put things behind them with a response this weekend in Saudi Arabia.

Indeed, as per Autosport, the team is feeling satisfied that they have both identified and solved the issue and it shouldn’t happen again, with both drivers surely keen to see that that is exactly the case.

It’s always dramatic when a team sees both their cars retire, especially through technical faults and especially when it’s a team as strong as Red Bull, and now both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will be counting down the seconds to race day on Sunday to try and make amends.
