Bafana exclusion does not bother Zwane: 'I respect the coach's decision'

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane says he is "not disappointed" by being omitted from the Bafana Bafana squad for upcoming friendly matches.

South Africa play Guinea on Friday (19:00 SA time) in Belgium before taking on World Champions France the following Tuesday (21:15 SA time) in Lille.

Zwane has been in exceptional form for the all-conquering Brazilians in recent seasons but is yet to be called up under the current managerial regime led by Hugo Broos.

The 2019/20 Premier Soccer League Footballer of the Season told IOL: "I am not disappointed at all. I am a professional player.

"What I can say is that I respect the coach's decision. I support the guys all the way.

"I have not yet spoken to the coach. And I don't have anything against him as well.

"As a player, I'll keep on pushing, hoping that my chance will come.

"If not, I'll still keep on pushing. There are things that I still want to achieve personally, with the team. So, I have to push myself and try to improve in every game."

Zwane has made 24 appearances for his country, but last turned out for Bafana in a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in 2021.
