Deschamps aware of Bafana threat, names Dolly as 'an interesting player' ahead of Lille showdown

France head coach Didier Deschamps is well aware of the potential threats Bafana Bafana have in their arsenal ahead of the highly anticipated international friendly on Tuesday.

It will be the first match since Bafana Bafana claimed a historic 2-1 victory over Les Bleus at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Speaking to the media ahead of the encounter, Deschamps named three players who he thinks can hurt his French side.

The 2018 World Cup-winning coach says that they are preparing for the Qatar edition later this year - starting in November – and believes France might play against African nations.

"I know the offensive players [in the Bafana Bafana team] better, the forwards. [Keagan] Dolly is an interesting player. The two forwards, [Victor] Letsoalo and the other one is [Evidence] Makgopa," he told reporters.

"Yes, of course, we had people from our team watching your game [against Guinea]. But I do not think it will be the same players who will face France.

"Even though this is a friendly game, we are preparing for the 2022 World Cup. This gives us the opportunity to play against an African team, and this is not always the case for us. For example, the last time [we played against South Africa] was in 2010 at the World Cup.

"In the next World Cup, we may play against African nations, and those teams might have the same qualities, the same style of play that South Africa has."

On Friday, France played to a 2-1 win against Ivory Coast, while South Africa were held to a goalless draw against Guinea.
