Bafana boss Broos waits on Champions League winner Tau, three others to report for duty

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos said he was still waiting on a quartet of players to report to camp ahead of Saturday's African Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco at the FNB Stadium.

Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Njabulo Blom, who are based in the United States of America where they play in Major League Soccer, are on their way to South Africa after playing in league fixtures this weekend.

Luke le Roux, who plays for Varbergs BoIS in Sweden, had a delayed flight and will only be arriving on Tuesday, while Percy Tau is on his way back from Morocco after Sunday's CAF Champions League second-leg final against Wydad Athletic Club in Casablanca, where they won 3-2 on aggregate.

With most players coming out of end-of-season work with their clubs, then going on to rigorous fitness training at the High-Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria, it wasn't fitness levels that were concerning Broos.

However, he was worried about the fatigue his traveling players may have to deal with, especially having to arrive flush from matches after long-haul flights.

"You know the problem with South Africa is that the players who are coming from abroad have to travel long distances," Broos said.

"Look at what's happening with Luke. Ideally, he should have been here this morning, but his flight has been delayed by 10 hours.

"Those are the small things that you have to manage, but, at this point, I don't think I have any fitness concerns.

"They'll all be fit."

What made Broos happy was that Tau will join the national team with both fitness and an air of confidence after his Champions League success with the Red Devils.
