Avram Glazer spotted at Old Trafford for Man United vs Fulham

Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has returned to Old Trafford for what is thought to be the first time in two years for the Reds' Premier League opener against Fulham.

The Glazer family have rarely been spotted at the Theatre of Dreams since opinion of the ownership soured. For the past few years, United fans have protested against the American family for their perceived neglect of the club.

These protests became less frequent in the second half of last season when it was announced that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos had bought a minority stake in the club. The English billionaire has since taken over the football side of the club with the Glazers taking a back seat.

While the Glazers have been spotted for the most recent trips to Wembley Stadium, they have been scarcely spotted in Manchester. Until tonight that is, with the 63-year-old seen inside the ground prior to kick off.

His last appearance at Old Trafford was in August 2022 as United lost their opening match of the season at home to Graham Potter's Brighton and Hove Albion. During that match, there were vocal protests against his family's ownership.

While Glazer is at the match, it is expected that Ratcliffe will not be in attendance for the opener. United have handed out just the one full debut this evening as full-back Noussair Mazraoui starts against Fulham.

Matthijs de Ligt has been named among the substitutes as has Joshua Zirkzee. Meanwhile, French defender Leny Yoro is missing due to his injury picked up on tour.
