Australian women dominate ICC rankings

Australia boasts four of the top seven ODI batters in the women's game and at the World Cup, according to the latest ICC rankings.

Confirming their place as the team to beat this month in New Zealand, the Australians have a quartet on top of the world.

Alyssa Healy is unchanged as the best 50-over batter, with Jess Jonassen ranked the top bowler, Megan Schutt the top pace bowler and Ellyse Perry the game's premier allrounder.

The latest update to the rankings was filed after the first five matches of the Women's World Cup, including one Australian match -- their 12-run win over England.

Meg Lanning's 86 surged her to second place in the rankings, with Tammy Beaumont of England third.

Two other members of Australia's top order feature high in the list: Beth Mooney at five and Rachael Haynes at seven.

Haynes' mighty 130 against England moved her up six places and into the top 10.

Her opening partner, wicketkeeper Healy, was player of the match in Australia's win over Pakistan on Tuesday with 72, her best World Cup score.

"It is our strength," Healy said of Australia's batting power.

"And we back our bowling attack to be able to defend whatever our batting group can get."

Jonassen showed her pedigree with the match on the line in Hamilton, taking 2-2 in the final over to restrict England.

She retained top spot on the bowling rankings, with Schutt at number three, behind England offspinner Sophie Ecclestone.
