Ruud van Nistelrooy is on the lookout for a new job after leaving Manchester United. The former striker’s exit from Old Trafford was confirmed last week following the arrival of Ruben Amorim as head coach.
It brought to an end a short return to the club. Van Nistelrooy became Erik ten Hag’s assistant in the summer, after being heavily linked with managerial jobs.
Following the sacking of Ten Hag, the Dutchman was retained to oversee first team matters while a managerial replacement was found. Van Nistelrooy took charge of four games as United interim manager.
There was uncertainty over his future following the arrival of Amorim. But the Portuguese has opted to bring his own staff to the club.

Van Nistelrooy would have done himself no harm with any clubs looking to appoint him with his stint as interim boss at United. The four games he took charge of could potentially be seen as an audition for any owners keeping an eye out.
In those four games, United won three and drew one. His final match in charge was a 3-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League before the international break, it was the team’s second win over the Foxes under the manager with a 5-2 victory in the Carabao Cup.
United also came out as 2-1 winners over PAOK in the Europa League as well as drawing 1-1 with in-form Chelsea in the Premier League.
