Atletico Talleres table offer for Sheffield Wednesday's Josh Windass
Atletico Talleres have submitted an offer in the region of £1million for Sheffield Wednesday's Josh Windass. The Argentinian outfit are run by former Rangers man, Pedro Caixinha who worked with Windass north of the border.
The bid is believed to be in a similar region to that of Milwall's last year. Talleres president, Andrés Fassi has confirmed the bid in when speaking to Mundo D in Argentina.
Fassi said: “There is an agreement with Josh Windass. Yesterday we sent the offer to Sheffield Wednesday. It will be difficult because he has a year and a half left on his contract."
The bid is expected to test Wednesday's resolve after Windass endured and injury hit campaign, mustering just four goals and two assists last year.- A number of other clubs are also understood to be keen on the 28-year-old.
Speaking earlier this week Fassi said: “We are in talks with an English player, who Pedro [Caixinha] already had in Europe as a player, wants to come and live the experience of Argentine soccer. It is part of the negotiations that we will do in Buenos Aires. The footballer is Josh Windass."
Caixinha has since responded adding: “Yes it’s true I want him. I got to work with Josh Windass at Rangers in Scotland and I keep in touch with him. He's a quality player.”
