Aston Villa transfer claims emerge over links with Barcelona target Kalidou Koulibaly
Aston Villa have been linked with an ambitious summer transfer swoop for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Senegal international could leave Italy this summer as Napoli have so far failed to tie the defender down to a new contract. Koulibaly, who has been with Napoli since 2014, has reportedly stalled on accepting a new deal.
His current contract set to expire in 2023 and the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, Newcastle and Villa have been named as possible suitors. Though, the latest reports claim that Koulibaly will not be playing his football at Villa Park next season.

The Express and Star claim that the Napoli centre-back is not on Villa's radar, despite head coach Steven Gerrard being keen to bolster his defensive options further. Brazilian Diego Carlos signed on for a fee of £25million last week and Villa would like to add another centre-back before the start of a crucial 2022/23 campaign in August.
