Aston Villa's Carney Chukwuemeka responds to England hype with six-word message

Carney Chukwuemeka's contract stand-off with Aston Villa continues as the teenager is being linked with top clubs in England and across Europe.

His latest performances for England Under-19s have once again justified the hype surrounding the teenager as Ian Foster's young Three Lions team have breezed into the Under-19 European Championship semi-finals. Chukwuemeka has contributed to four of England's seven goals in the tournament, and has netted two of his own.

The likes of Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona will be watching his performances closely during the youth tournament having been heavily linked with an interest in the player. Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Chukwuemeka captained the England youth side in the last win over Isreal, which came on Saturday night in Ziar nad Hronom, Slovakia. And after the win, Chukwuemeka sent a message on social media. The 18-year-old said on Instagram: "3/3 onto the semis. God guide me."

Villa boss Steven Gerrard has previously claimed that he is hopeful the midfielder will pen fresh terms at B6, given the club has a blueprint for his development. Gerrard said back in January: "We want him to sign and to extend and reward him for what we've seen so far.

"We've got big aspirations and a big road map for Carney but in terms of answering your question, there's only one person who can answer and that's Carney."
