Keinan Davis has always been somewhat of a mystery to Aston Villa fans.

A player who shows so much promise in games and never fails to impress each manager he works with has sadly failed to kick on with his career at the highest level.

With a total of 34 Premier League appearances to his name and just one goal and one assist, it has been tough for Davis to put together a run of form in claret and blue.

Injuries have hindered his progress, having missed a total of 31 games since the 2019/20 season with four different injuries.

A loan move has always been what the player needed and he came close to leaving in summer, however once again was blighted through injury. However, after finally completing a loan move to Nottingham Forest in this window, Davis looks a man possessed on the pitch at times.

Davis has already played and started in four games for the Championship side, including an impressive and dominant display against Arsenal on his debut.

He is grabbing this opportunity with both hands, constantly displaying the physical striker Villa fans have been watching since his debut in 2016. What has always eluded the player in recent history is the prowess in front of goal needed to be a striker at the highest level, but on Tuesday night he sent a clear message to Steven Gerrard with a goal for Forest.

Davis bullied the defender off the ball and then utilised both his pace and power to plough through on goal, where he calmly slotted away his opportunity and wheeled off to celebrate.

If Davis can develop a clinical edge in front of goal to pair with his physical attributes and hold up play, he could be set to return to Villa and compete for a starting role.
