Aston Villa transfer news: Steven Gerrard could sign Yves Bissouma for less than £25m

Yves Bissouma‘s contract situation could play into Aston Villa‘s hands, says transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

The Brighton midfielder will be a free agent in 2023, and O’Rourke thinks Villa could snap him up for less than £25m in the summer as a result.

Steven Gerrard recently confirmed that Villa had a bid turned down for Bissouma in the January transfer window.

However, Gerrard is expected to go back in again for Bissouma when the transfer window reopens, with The Telegraph claiming that he is still a target for the club.

They might be able to get the Mali midfielder for a cheaper fee than they bid for him in January.”

It is clear that Bissouma is a target for Villa, and it would not be a surprise if a move to Villa Park appealed to him.

The Villans are a club on the up, showing their ambition in the last transfer window by signing Philippe Coutinho on loan from
