Aston Martin 2022 launch: British team gives fans first look at genuine new-era F1 car

Aston Martin have become the third Formula 1 team to unveil their 2022 car and have arguably become the first team to give us an accurate representation of what their machine will look like come the first Grand Prix in Bahrain.

Haas were the first outfit to give us a glimpse of their new car with digital renders of their new livery decked over the generic 2022 model that was first shown off at Silverstone, with a few slight tweaks.

Then, we saw Red Bull reveal their 2022 model on Wednesday with Christian Horner saying that the car on show would be a lot different to the one that actually takes part in the first race at the Sakhir circuit in mid-March.

Indeed, there might have been some fears that this year’s launch season would see most of the teams follow suit, in a bid to stop competitors getting an early look at how one another has interpreted the sweeping new rules for 2022, but Aston Martin has opted to give us perhaps the most accurate representation of what one of these cars in the new era actually looks like.

Let’s take a closer look now:

It’s certainly a nice-looking piece of kit with the British Racing Green once again used by the team.

Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll will once more be at the wheel and will be hoping for a good 2022, with the new rules aimed at generating closer, more competitive racing.

2021 was tough at times for the team as aerodynamic changes between 2020 and 2021 set them back a little bit, but with a new season comes renewed optimism and the new regulations should only fuel that feeling further.
