Alpine launch 2022 Formula 1 car with eye-catching new paint scheme

Pink is back in Formula 1 with the Alpine team using their chief sponsor BWT to put together a very eye-catching new car ahead of the 2022 season.

Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon both return for the new campaign with the British/French team, and both will be eager to build on some solid performances that led them to 5th in the Constructors’ championship in 2021.

Indeed, Ocon achieved a race win in Hungary whilst Alonso returned to the podium in Qatar, and both will feel that such feats can be repeated if their car is strong enough this season.

With that all said, then, let’s have a look at what the team have managed to put together ahead of the new campaign, with them launching a show car with the new livery in Paris, just a couple of days before testing begins at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona and their actual car hits the track:

It’s certainly an eye-catching bit of kit, with pink back firmly on an F1 car after a spell away following BWT’s removal as main sponsor of the Racing Point team, which is now Aston Martin.

Indeed, BWT come along as Alpine’s new chief sponsor with Otmar Szafnauer’s arrival helping pave the way for the deal, and it’s led to a very nice looking machine for 2022.

Ultimately, though, it’ll only look nice for Alonso and Ocon if it can help them break out of the midfield and get back towards the front of the grid on a regular basis, and time will only tell if they have achieved that aim once we go racing in Bahrain in March.
