'As someone who rarely wears a face base, I'm pleasantly surprised by the performance of Glossier's Stretch foundation'

As a fashion and beauty writer, it goes without saying that I absolutely love makeup. Living in Manchester means I'm fortunate enough to be able to spend time window shopping in the likes of Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and the big Boots in the Arndale on a spare Saturday afternoon.

Like a bird with something shiny, I gravitate towards trying out different blushes, sparkly highlighters and eyeshadows palettes. But when I come to think of it, I actually rarely wear foundation, and it's even rarer for me to to branch out from what I know and love when it comes to trying new base products.

However when I saw that Glossier released their first 'proper' foundation in the summer of last year, I knew I had to try it. The brand's Perfecting Skin Tint has been a mainstay in the brand's complexation line-up for years, but with only 12 shades, it is more of a tinted moisturiser than a coverage-providing face base.

The Stretch Fluid Foundation costs £34 and is available from the Glossier Website and at Sephora. It promises to be crease, sweat and transfer-resistant with up to 12 hours of wear-time but I had to put it to to the test to see if it lived up to the hype.

The dewy foundation comes in 32 shades, which I think is a decent shade range, although it doesn't compete with Fenty's Beauty PRO FILT'R Hydrating Foundation which has a whopping 50 shades to choose from.
