Arteta could bring £34m 'strong brute' to the Emirates

Arsenal target Gianluca Scamacca has been labelled a ‘big strong brute of a centre-forward’ by Italian football expert Conor Clancy as speculation over his future continues to rumble on.

The 23-year-old is widely expected to depart Sassuolo this summer after putting in several impressive displays for the Serie A outfit.

According to Italian outletFcInterNews, Arsenal have already ‘knocked on’ Sassuolo’s door over the possibility of signing Scamacca, although Inter are in pole position for his signature.

The report claims that the 6 foot 5 ace has agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri but that his €40 million (£34m) price tag is proving to be a major stumbling block.

Scamacca has since put pen to paper on a new contract with Sassuolo, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed the rather unusual reasons behind his decision to do so.

When speaking to Rio Ferdinand, the reliable reporter revealed that the plan for Scamacca is to loan him out next season and insert a clause that will see the player leave on a permanent transfer.
