Arsene Wenger dismantles Liverpool as Rangers handed 3 vital tips to pull off stunning Champions League takedown

English Premier League icon Arsene Wenger has picked apart Liverpool after their lacklustre start to the season - naming three key areas they have dropped off in this term.

Jurgen Klopp 's side are in the midst of a nightmare start to the season having managed just two wins from their first seven English Premier League games so far, leaving them languishing in mid-table as they head into a massive European encounter with Rangers. Going into the showdown at Anfield on Tuesday, Liverpool blew a 3-2 lead against Brighton at home to ramp up the pressure on the Red's going as they get back to European action.

That will offer Gio van Bronckhorst 's side plenty of encouragement that they can return to Govan with a shock result under their belt, and former Arsenal boss Wenger says there is plenty for last season's Europa League finalists to take advantage of. He reckons the Reds are sluggish when looking to reclaim the ball, as we as playing a less direct style.

He also pointed the finger at summer recruit Darwin Nunez, who has netted just one Premier League goal since his massive €100 million move from Benfica. When asked to pinpoint Liverpool's problems so far this season, Wenger told beIN SPORTS: "It's difficult. They have the same core and play the same type of game (as last season).

"But they are less efficient in winning the ball back than before. They play less vertical as well. And certainly, at the moment, Nunez hasn't worked out for them.

"They have spent, made a big investment, and he is sitting on the bench. They have lost Mane who had something.

"He had an aggressive attitude and a determination in the big games. It's difficult to measure how much that takes away."
