Arsenal 'will keep tabs' on 'unbelievable' £66m striker at the Emirates

Arsenal are likely to still be keeping tabs on Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Gunners tried to sign the highly-rated Serbian striker back in January, only for the Old Lady to come in and convince him to stay in Serie A.

Back in January, Sky Sports claimed that Arsenal held a ‘strong interest’ with Mikel Arteta in desperate need of a striker following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure and Alexandre Lacazette’s struggles in front of goal.

Despite the north Londoners’ interest, they were unable to meet Fiorentina’s asking price, which allowed Juventus to swoop in and secure his services in a £66m deal.

Fortunately for Arsenal, Erling Haaland signed for Manchester City, which meant Gabriel Jesus became available, with Arteta’s connections leading to him making the switch to the Emirates.

But according to CMW, the Gunners remain interested, with Arteta telling the hierarchy to make a move for the 22-year-old, who’s yet to hit the ground running since making the move to Turin.

Regardless, while O’Rourke recognises that Vlahovic will still be on their radar, he doesn’t expect Juve to let him to leave so quickly after his arrival.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Obviously they wanted Vlahovic in January but lost out to Juventus.

“They do like the player, but I don’t think the need is there now for Arsenal after bringing in Jesus.

“But I’m sure that Arsenal will continue to keep tabs on Vlahovic as he’s been a target for the club, but I’d be very surprised if Juventus consider selling him despite his struggles.”
