Arsenal will 'consider' bringing £50m star to the Emirates

Arsenal have been tipped to ‘at least consider the idea’ of signing Everton forward Richarlison in the summer by journalist Dean Jones.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park in recent weeks due to their ongoing struggles both on and off the pitch, and the Emirates Stadium could be a potential destination.

Everton splashed out a whopping £50 million to prise Richarlison away from Watford in 2018, and he’s established himself as one of the club’s star performers ever since.

In 146 appearances for the Toffees across all competitions, the Brazil international has registered 50 goals and 13 assists, but his time on Merseyside could be drawing to a close.

Everton recorded a loss of just under £121m for the 2020/21 season, just 12 months after they posted club-record losses of £139.9m.

On top of that, the sanctioning of Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, who was due to sign a naming rights deal for the club’s ambitious new Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, has also left the Blues in deep financial trouble.

The Daily Mail state Everton will have a £300m void left to fill, and their top stars, such as Richarlison, could be made available in order to fill it.

In a previous interview, Jones told GiveMeSport that Arsenal signing Richarlison ‘could actually happen’ when the market reopens for business.

And now, the transfer insider has revealed he expects the Gunners to contemplate the idea of bringing the South American to north London as a minimum.

Jones informed GMS: “With this type of player, the agents that they work for, this is how transfers open up for them.

“But Arsenal have good relationships with them, they’ve been in this conversation
