Arsenal transfer round-up: Gunners ‘re-ignite’ interest in old flame as Bayern eye target

Arsenal are having the perfect start to their pre-season from a results perspective with three wins from as many pre-season clashes.

Mikel Arteta’s side picked up their third win of the summer in the early hours of Sunday morning in Baltimore, America, with Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka both scoring in the space of two second half minutes to earn the Gunners a 2-0 victory over Everton.

In the transfer window, it has already been a busy couple of months, with the Gunners spending £80million on Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos, although more acquisitions could soon follow them.

Mirror Sport has the latest transfer gossip surrounding Arsenal, with one player linked with interest from the Gunners, and another current player being linked away.

Arsenal have reportedly re-ignited their interest in signing Juventus ’ Brazilian midfielder Arthur, who has been left out of the Italian club’s pre-season training camp in America. The midfielder has been transfer listed by the Bianconeri and reports from TMW (published by Football Italia) claim that the Gunners have recently re-entered talks to sign the midfielder, who has spent the past two years in Turin.

The Gunners have previously been linked with interest in the 25-year-old, with reports claiming that other European clubs are monitoring the midfielder’s current situation, with his former club Barcelona reportedly among the other clubs keen on a move for the 22-time Brazil international.

Arthur still has three years on his contract at the Juventus Stadium following his arrival for €82m (£69.8m) including add-ons in 2020.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who has previously been linked with Arsenal, is reportedly being lined up by Bayern Munich as a replacement
