Arsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta pushing to sign Moussa Diaby as two conditions for move are revealed

Mikel Arteta is reportedly ready to make a serious play to bring Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby to Arsenal this summer, after two conditions over the potential transfer emerged.

The Gunners are enjoying a successful season under Arteta. Having signed a raft of young talent last summer, their approach is paying dividends with Arsenal currently well placed to bring Champions League football back to the club. Indeed, with four games left, Arsenal are fourth in the table with a two-point buffer to fifth-placed Tottenham.

Arsenal will soon know whether their quest to return to the top table of European competition is successful. Critical games against Leeds on Sunday and at Tottenham on Thursday will go a long way to deciding their fate.

And should the Gunners achieve their goal, Arteta and Edu will be afforded another big budget to strengthen their squad.

Part of their thinking will evolve around the strengthening of their defensive options. To that end, we revealed recently how William Saliba is ready to return to Emirates Stadium this summer to fight for his place.

Furthermore, the Gunners may also be boosted by a familiar face this summer too, with Hector Bellerin likely to return to the fold.

The biggest changes though will come in the attack. Arsenal are still trying to persuade Eddie Nketiah to stay, though a move away – most likely to Crystal Palace – looks the likely outcome.

And with Alexandre Lacazette also likely to move on, there will be signings made to bolster the attack.

Arteta is also looking to add more goals to his side from the wing.

To that end, reports in Germany claim Arsenal are making ‘very serious efforts’ to persuade Bayer Leverkusen to sell Diaby.
