Arsenal to benefit from PSG's Arsene Wenger proposal as Barcelona opportunity is created

Arsenal could be set to create a strong link with Paris Saint-Germain which would see an improvement in relations between the two sides after their latest board shake-up.

According to French outlet Footmercato, the owners of PSG are dreaming of a Zidane and Arsene Wenger duo at the club with Zidane as the head coach and Wenger as the sporting director.

With the great Wenger taking a senior role at the Ligue 1 side and due to his history with Arsenal, it could create a strong link between the north London and PSG.

The Gunners would certainly benefit from this especially considering the strong squads that PSG have been able to assemble in recent years.

The Parisian side have been the most dominant team in France over the last decade, and they have now built a squad capable of qualifying for the Champions League.

With Wenger potentially being a member of the senior staff at the start of next season, then it opens up the opportunity for Mikel Arteta to sign players, and offload players to the Parisian side.

This would not be the first time that Arsenal would have created a strong link with a European powerhouse, as, during the late 00s and early 10’s, there were a lot of dealings between the north London side and Barcelona.

Arsenal had signed top talents such as Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez who elevated the club during the tenures in the side.

Barcelona also signed qualities players from Arsenal such as Thierry Henry, Fabregas, Alex Song, and Alexandre Hleb.

With PSG on the rise, and having an unlimited amount of finances it means they are able to maintain a world-class squad, which the Gunners could explore if Wenger joins as the club’s sporting director.
