Arsenal suffer huge injury concern ahead of Premier League title race showdown vs Man City

Arsenal now face a major injury concern ahead of their Premier League title race clash against Man City on March 31.

After the international break, City will greet the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium where both sides will be hoping to earn what could prove to be a crucial three points in the Premier League title race. But Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is now dealing with a significant injury setback before the game against Manchester City.

With Arsenal is top of the table, just one point ahead of City, the Gunners now face a similar scenario to last year, where they ultimately let their lead in the table slip. Arsenal were close to clinching the league title but they lost first place to Pep Guardiola's team when William Saliba was injured.

Although Arsenal had been on top for a large part of last season, they didn't win the title. While Arteta is eager to avoid a similar situation, Arsenal has been shocked by a massive injury.

The Brazil Football Federation has confirmed that Gabriel Magalhaes has been left out of the first-team squad for their upcoming games. The Arsenal defender was chosen by Dorival Junior, but he got injured and Juventus defender Gleison Bremer replaced him.

"I had already communicated previously that we work with a slightly more extensive list," said the Brazil boss. "A pre-call, we can put it that way, and again, today, we had another casualty. Unfortunately, Gabriel Magalhães is uncalled. In his place, we are calling Bremer, from Juventus Turin, from Italy."
