Arsenal 'still in the market' for huge signing after Zinchenko

Arsenal are likely still on the hunt for a new attacking signing this summer after missing out on a move for Raphinha, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Gabriel Jesus was signed from Manchester City to add quality to the attacking unit but Mikel Arteta could well make further additions before deadline day.

It has all gone a bit quiet on the transfer front for Arsenal as far as attacking targets go, with Oleksandr Zinchenko the most talked about figure at the moment.

The Man City left-back moved closer to a transfer after a £32 million fee was agreed between the clubs this summer and it will be interesting to see who the Gunners move onto next.

The Gunners were potentially put on high alert this week when Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio sacked his agent, with the north Londoners interested in signing the Spaniard according to The Sun.

Reports have also emerged suggesting Arsenal are battling Newcastle for the signing of Lyon forward Lucas Paqueta with the Brazilian open to a Premier League switch.

Experienced striker Paulo Dybala is also of interest while exciting PSV attacker Cody Gakpo has been consistently touted as a target all summer too.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “I just get the impression that maybe they’re still in the market for a forward player. Because if they were willing to outlay, you know, in excess of £50 million for Raphinha, then it’s obvious to think that that position is a priority area for Arsenal.”

With European football returning to the Emirates next season in the form of the Europa League, Arteta is clearly looking to build a squad with the depth to cope with those added demands.
