Arsenal set to receive windfall after £142m World Cup boost revealed

Arsenal are set to receive compensation from FIFA for having players at the 2022 World Cup. The World Cup Benefits Program of FIFA see clubs receive £6,460-per-day for every player released for the winter tournament in Qatar.

A total of $209 million (£142m) will be distributed among the clubs releasing players to the participating teams in the 2022 World Cup.

The amount that each club receives depend on how many players are at the tournament and how far they progress.

According to FIFA, 'a share is then passed on to the club with which the player was registered in the two years prior to one day after the elimination of his representative team.
