Arsenal pushing to sign Marco Asensio ‘at all costs’ amid big Liverpool transfer reveal

Arsenal are reportedly pushing to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid ‘at all costs’, although Liverpool will seemingly rival them all the way.

Asensio has one year to run on his Real Madrid contract and this is leading to rumours that a Premier League move could occur next. The right winger made 42 appearances under Carlo Ancelotti last season, registering 12 goals and two assists. He helped Real to win both La Liga and the Champions League.

However, Asensio only completed six matches in the Spanish league, and didn’t complete any during Real’s Champions League campaign.

That’s because Ancelotti prefers to start with Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde or Rodrygo on the wings. Asensio gets plenty of appearances but either comes off the bench or is replaced in the second half.

Due to this, the Spaniard could decide to leave Los Blancos so he can become a more important player elsewhere.

And with his contract running down, a team should be able to get him for less than his actual transfer value.

According to a recent report from Spanish newspaper Sport, Liverpool like Asensio and are the ‘main bidders’ for him.

Interest also comes Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Elsewhere, Juventus, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain would all like to sign the 26-year-old.

Sport provide an update, as cited by Sport Witness. They now push Arsenal as one of the most interested clubs, stating the Gunners want Asensio ‘at all costs’.

There is no mention of how much Mikel Arteta’s side are willing to pay. But what is known is Real’s demands.

The Spanish champions would ideally like to receive £51.7m. However, they could be tempted by an offer which comes in at £43m.
