Arsenal legend tells Leicester City they've 'turned a corner' ahead of clash

Paul Merson believes that Leicester City have 'turned a bit of a corner' ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

City have won four straight matches across all competitions and have made a 100% start to the month of March in the Premier League so far.

Arsenal are also in strong form themselves though and are unbeaten in their last five league outings.

The former Gunners attacker believes the match will be a 'tight' one and believes a key injury absence up front for the Foxes could make all the difference as Brendan Rodgers ' side look to outgun their opponents.

"Leicester have turned a bit of a corner," Merson told sportskeeda, "but they’ll have to do without Jamie Vardy this week."

"The football Arsenal played last week was breathtaking. They could put severe pressure on (Manchester) United and Spurs in the top-four race with a victory.

"This game will be tight, but I’d expect Arsenal to win this game."

Merson has predicted that the hosts will win 3-1.

The absence of Vardy will undoubtedly be keenly felt so soon after returning to make just two appearances earlier this month, but it may well allow Rodgers to start the 'best finisher at the club', according to captain Kasper Schmeichel.

Emile Heskey revealed as much while on punditry duty during the Europa Conference League win on Thursday night.

“Kasper Schmeichel says Iheanacho is the best finisher at the club, and that is fantastic," Heskey said. "The finish was not easy at all.”

“It’s great for him to score, especially with Jamie Vardy being out. The club rely on Vardy, but it’s not just about him.”
