Arsenal have 'opportunity' to sign exciting £67.5m star at Emirates
Arsenal may have a “window of opportunity” to sign Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.
That’s because Jacobs thinks the La Liga outfit’s financial problems could force them to cash in on their prized asset.
Despite Arsenal making a fine start to the Premier League season, which has seen them win their opening three league fixtures for the first time since 2004-2005, Mikel Arteta is still in the market for a wide player.
Having missed out on Raphinha, coupled in with Nicolas Pepe’s expected departure, the Gunners manager needs reinforcements on the flanks.
That could arrive in the shape of Pino, who Arsenal are interested in signing before the window closes.
According to GOAL, the Spaniard has a £67.5m release clause, but the report claims the north Londoners could bring him to the Emirates Stadium for just £38m, with the Spanish club ‘open’ to a much lower offer.
And Jacobs reckons that Villarreal’s financial difficulties has given Arsenal a “window of opportunity” to sign him before September’s deadline.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “A lot of clubs have followed him for a long time and that includes Arsenal and Liverpool as well, but there’s a window of opportunity here because of the financial situation at Villarreal’s end and Unai Emery has said on record that if an offer comes in that is acceptable because the club’s finances trump the individual talent that the club like to keep.”
Pino might not turn 20 until October, but he’s already proven himself in top-flight football.
In his first full campaign in La Liga in 2020-2021, he registered seven goals and laid on one assist, notably scoring against Real Madrid and also started Villarreal’s Europa League final victory over Manchester United.
