Arsenal given triple injury boost ahead of Manchester United fixture

Arsenal are due to have some key players back and available for selection against Manchester United on Sunday.

There had been worry among Gunners fans that striker Eddie Nketiah could miss the clash due to a knee injury but Football.London says those fears are misplaced and that the 24-year-old - who scored against United last season - is fine to play. On Thursday, he received his first England call-up.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s attack could be further boosted by Gabriel Jesus, who made his first appearance of the season against Fulham on Saturday when he came on as a substitute. The Brazilian is thought to be ready to start against United, as is Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The defender also made his bow for the season from the bench against Fulham with Takehiro Tomiyasu missing due to suspension following his red card against Crystal Palace. The Japan star is available for selection again this weekend.

Summer signing Jurrien Timber and midfielder Mohamed Elneny are both long-term absentees for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Meanwhile, United have a long list of injury concerns. Left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both sidelined as the Reds search for an emergency signing before deadline day.

Midfielders Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo are also nursing problems while Raphael Varane will miss 'a number of weeks' after coming off at half-time in Saturday’s win over Nottingham Forest.

Amad and Tom Heaton are also unavailable, although there is hope that Rasmus Hojlund could make his debut after arriving with a back injury - albeit he has not been photographed in training this week.
