Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has sent Mikel Arteta a pointed message after posting a highlight reel of him in training.

Elneny is into the final three months of his contract with the club and looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer having fallen down the pecking order in recent months. The Egyptian international has started just one Premier League match this season and has played just six league minutes since the turn of the year.

However, first-choice holding midfielder Thomas Partey is currently facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury during last week's 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. Arteta has since confirmed that the Ghana international will be out for 'some weeks', a major blow to the club's hopes of qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Brighton on Saturday, the Spaniard said: "It’s a little bit ambiguous but he has a significant injury. We will have to keep assessing him but he will be out for some weeks."
