Arsenal: Edu 'in the market' for more exciting signings at the Emirates

Arsenal are “definitely in the market” for more players this summer transfer window, according to Paul Brown of the Daily Star.

Mikel Arteta’s side have made a total of four signings so far this summer, and more are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

Arsenal’s biggest signing of the summer so far has been the arrival of Manchester City and Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, for a fee of which is believed to be £45m.

The 25-year-old also joins midfielder Fábio Vieira, who joined the club for £30m from Portuguese side FC Porto.

The Gunners have also signed New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner and 19-year-old Brazilian winger Marquinhos from São Paulo.

Arteta’s side are still looking to bring in players to the club and have been linked with a multitude of players throughout the summer, most notably Ajax and Argentina centre-back Lisandro Martínez.

And Brown believes that whilst it has already been a productive summer for Arsenal, they are still in the hunt for a number of other players this summer.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It hasn’t been a bad summer for Arsenal as they’ve already signed Gabriel Jesus.

“What else do they do after that?

“We’ll have to wait and see but they’re definitely in the market for more players.”

It’ll be an interesting remaining few months of the transfer window for Arteta’s side, with the head coach seemingly desperate to improve the quality in his backline.

The aforementioned Martínez deal looks like it will go down to the wire, with Manchester United and Erik ten Hag also desperate for the player’s signature at Old Trafford, according to Fabrizio Romano.
