Arsenal: £62m star 'will be really frustrated' amid Emirates links

Arsenal could reignite their interest in Dusan Vlahovic and a move to the Emirates Stadium may be on the cards as he is likely to be finding life at Juventus ‘really frustrating’, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League table, thanks to winning seven of their opening eight fixtures, but it seems boss Mikel Arteta has already set his sights on strengthening his forward line in January.

According to Italian media outlet Il Bianconero, Arsenal are long-term admirers of Vlahovic and remain interested in prising him away from Juventus.

However, the report suggests Arteta’s charges will face competition from London rivals Chelsea, along with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, for the 16-cap Serbia international’s services if he becomes available.

Vlahovic only joined Juventus in a £62million deal from Serie A rivals Fiorentina earlier this year and his contract, worth close to £6.1million-per-year, is not due to expire until the summer of 2026.

But the striker headed to the Allianz Stadium after Arsenal made a big-money bid, which would have also resulted in Lucas Torreira going in the opposite direction, during the January transfer window.

Vlahovic has scored five goals and registered a further assist in nine appearances since the new season got underway in August.

Jones understands that Vlahovic and his representatives opted against a move to Arsenal at the start of the year because they did not feel the north Londoners were in a position to challenge for regular silverware.

However, the journalist hints the Gunners’ impressive start to the campaign may have changed his stance and the fact he is not entirely happy at Juventus could play into the Premier League
