Arsenal 2-1 Wolves: Aaron Ramsdale appeared to celebrate in Ruben Neves' face

Arsenal pulled off one of the most dramatic wins of the 2021/22 Premier League season on Thursday evening.

Going into the final 10 minutes of their crucial clash against top four rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, Mikel Arteta’s side trailed 1-0 thanks to Hee-Chan Hwang’s early strike.

The South Korean forward capitalised on a poor backpass from Gabriel Magalhaes, rounded Aaron Ramsdale and rolled the ball into the back of the net from a tight angle.

For a while it looked as if that would be the winning goal on the night, but Arsenal finally managed to find an equaliser in the 82nd-minute through second half substitute Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian latched onto a ball into the box from Eddie Nketiah, swivelled like prime Dennis Bergkamp and then beat Jose Sa in the Wolves goal.

Unsurprisingly, the Emirates was rocking after the equaliser and Arsenal fed off the passion from the crowd to in order to keep going and somehow find a winner – which they did in the 96th-minute.

Alexandre Lacazette’s shot from inside the area found its way into the back of the net via Sa’s glove to seal a potentially season-defining win for the Gunners.

Absolute scenes! That win has moved Arsenal up to fifth in the Premier League table and they’re now just a point behind Manchester United with two games in hand.
